Ashiqul Islam Dip

Director of Research

11/3, Road 12, Kallyanpur, Dhaka

Biography

Ashiqul Islam Dip obtained his Bachelor of Science in physics from University of Dhaka in 2015. During his undergraduate years, he cofounded the Community of Physics to promote physics education and research. After completing his Master of Science from University of Dhaka, he went to North Carolina State University to earn a Doctor of Philosophy in physics. Currently, he is the Director of Research at Community of Physics and is involved in teaching and research there. As a graduate student at North Carolina State University, he is conducting his doctoral research as well.

Research Interests

Ashiqul Islam Dip's research interest includes cylindrically symmetric spacetimes, cosmic strings, gravitational waves, and formal aspects of general relativity. He studies the geodesic motion around cosmic strings and the gravitational radiation generated from such motions. As part of his doctoral works, he studies the Hamilton-Jacobi theory for general relativity. His interests also include the behavior of classical fluid under the influence of strong gravitational fields.
